Roller coaster

So I have been getting pretty annoyed thanks to the increasing number of twists and turns in all the books, TV shows and movies. Though one enjoys the twists, they must be well timed and they must make the reader feel thrilled. Nowadays, these buggers are putting twists like anything and I think the author gets more thrill than the poor readers. So here's me trying to put twists (no let us call it a roller coaster), and getting some thrill out of writing one lame ass story.

"Life's small joys", he thought to himself. He was sitting in his balcony, sipping a hot cup of tea while watching the first drops of rain grace the city.
"Life's small joys", she thought to herself. He was sitting in his balcony, sipping a hot cup of tea while watching the first drops of rain grace the city, thereby allowing her to watch her favourite TV show.
Of course, both of them were unaware of the trouble that was looming around them. A burglar was watching both of them, trying to figure out a way to sneak in, steal the documents and sneak out. He made his move and decided to just go for it. He walked in through the main gate, walked to their house, picked the lock with his master key, walked in stealthily, took the documents from the table and walked out. "Boss should be very happy with me", he thought.
Of course, he was unaware of the cops who were watching him all along. The owners of the house were in fact, high officials in the police force and were well aware of the thief watching them.
The thief called his boss and said, "Boss, everything is done." The boss laughed and said, "not exactly. But your job is done!" Before our thief could react, the cops surrounded him, and nabbed him.
Another man, watched from the adjacent building as all this unfolded. He called the boss and said "Done." The boss laughed to himself.

**Flashback**
One day, the thief walked over to the boss and said that he wanted a lot of money to keep his mouth shut. He had the audacity to blackmail the boss. The boss had sent the thief on one last assignment and promised him a lot of money. He himself tipped the police so that the thief could be put away.
**End of Flashback**

He laughed again because he was the evil villain and that is what evil villains do. Nobody could mess with him and succeed. Evil dark theme played in the background. Suddenly, a knock is heard on the door. The boss opened the door and found the thief standing outside.

**Another Flashback**
The thief had already submitted all evidence to the cops 3 days before and all this was a detailed scheme to get the boss' address. He knew that the boss would tip the cops and they would be able to trace the call back to his address.
**End of Another Flashback**

The husband, the wife and the thief laughed in a dramatic fashion and arrest the boss.
The end.
