From an author's point of view!

In the last two months, I have read so many novels that I seriously felt this has to be shared. Authors use so many adjectives to define tiny things that generally people would overlook. But this is what keeps the readers interested as in they like it when the authors give them absolutely minute details about a character or a place and it certainly helps in visualizing the scene better. So using this as an inspiration I have write my own tiny little experience in an over expressive author's style!

I opened my eyes. I was unaware of what was going on around me and I was still feeling groggy when our lips touched. I do not know who made the first move but then I really felt uncomfortable and itchy. Suddenly she bit my upper lip and I screamed because of the agonizing pain. I knew something was wrong from the beginning. A darned mosquito was sitting on my lip and I hadn't noticed it. So in order to swat it away I slapped my own mouth but damn, she got away! My upper lip was swollen for two reasons now. I stepped out from the wrong side of my bed. I should have jumped right back on but I did not. I placed my right leg on the floor first and a couple of dirt particles got stuck to it. I very cleverly placed my left leg into my bathroom slipper and it slid in perfectly and I managed to evade all the dust particles. I then similarly placed my right leg into the other slipper. The bathroom was about 8 steps away from my bed. Eight steps for a baby who just learnt to walk. So in my case it was just two steps. I placed my right leg on the floor and just as it touched the ground, I raised my left leg and I thrust my body forward. About 1.45 seconds later I was into the bathroom. There I used my right hand to pick up my toothbrush which had a soft plastic body and a good blue rubber grip which made it easier to hold the brush. I used my left hand to gently squeeze out my toothpaste which had the right mix of Sodium monofluoro phosphate, silica and sorbitol. After brushing my teeth, I had to empty my bladder for which I used my..... (Shall not get into details... shall release an uncut version if this one turns out to be a hit). I came out of the bathroom, with water dripping from my hands and face. Oops I did not mention the part where I washed my face. So let us rewind to about a minute back. I had finished brushing my teeth and I opened my tap slowly. Water began to trickle its way out of the tiny little pores in the tap. I closed my hands in such a way that they acted as a container for the water and I splashed it across my face. It felt cold as the water molecules collided against my skin. Back to the present, it was now time to have my first meal of the day which lower mortals call breakfast!

Our dining hall which was a mess (in more than one way) is located about 50 meters from our hostel. It is actually like Chandigarh (neither haryana’s nor Punjab’s). It serves as the dining hall for two hostels and can seat about 800 people at once. But what hurts me the most is the quality of the food. We were prisoners who paid to eat there. So I set off on my journey to the mess. A long walk as I had no intentions of eating what they called a sumptuous meal. As I swaggered my way in, I found there was some sweet along with uttapam. As I took my plate, the mess worker promptly poured the chutney on the sweet. Now apart from the fact that I was very suspicious about whether the guy had taken a bath, I doubted his common sense as well. I stared at him flabbergasted that someone can be so dumb but the guy did not even realize, for that was his level. So I chose to ignore and started eating. Suddenly I heard someone call my name. I felt as though someone hit my head with a baseball bat. I fell to the ground.

It was a bloody dream that was coming true! Not the true definition of dream come true but I guess I woke up from the wrong side of my bed yet again!
